Hello, my name is [Yanira Torres], and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.
I am currently homeless with my 15-year-old daughter, and I’m asking for help to get us into a safe and stable home.
Life changed drastically after we lost my daughter’s father. Losing him affected our family deeply, emotionally and financially, and I’ve been doing everything I can to hold us together while trying to rebuild. Despite everything we’ve faced, my daughter continues to push forward.
She plays basketball, works hard in school, and earns good grades. I’m so proud of her strength and determination, especially through all the grief and instability we’ve experienced. She deserves a safe place to come home to, a place where she can rest, focus on school, and just be a teenager.
I am trying to raise $3,000 to help us secure safe housing and cover the costs of getting back on our feet, including:
Security deposit and housing costs
Temporary shelter if needed
Basic necessities and transportation
Stability for my daughter during this difficult time
