Licensed Master Carpenter – Job Description
Position Title: Licensed Master Carpenter
Employment Type: Full-Time (40 Hours per Week)
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and licensed Master Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced carpentry skills, maintain a high standard of craftsmanship, and be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with a team. This position requires the ability to oversee and perform all phases of residential and commercial carpentry projects while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Perform all aspects of rough and finish carpentry, including framing, trim work, cabinetry, doors, windows, and custom woodwork.
Read, interpret, and execute work from blueprints, plans, drawings, and specifications.
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials according to project requirements.
Install and repair structures, fixtures, and building components.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
Coordinate with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other trades as needed.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Troubleshoot construction issues and provide practical solutions in the field.
Supervise and mentor apprentices or less experienced carpenters when required.
Complete projects efficiently while maintaining exceptional workmanship.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current and valid Master Carpenter license (if required by state or local jurisdiction).
Minimum of 5 years of professional carpentry experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain professional relationships with clients and coworkers.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Requirements:
Must provide and maintain personal carpentry tools necessary to perform assigned duties.
Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from job sites.
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions for extended periods.
Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Schedule & Benefits:
Full-time position: 40 hours per week.
Monday through Friday schedule (hours may vary based on project needs).
