We are seeking a full-time, experienced Maintenance Technician for a multifamily apartment community in Jacksonville, Florida. This property has deferred maintenance and requires a technician who can hit the ground running, work independently, and take pride in improving the condition of the property.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is dependable, resourceful, and experienced in maintaining older multifamily assets.
Primary Responsibilities
-Perform general maintenance and repairs across residential units and common areas
-Address work orders promptly and efficiently
-Troubleshoot and repair:
-Plumbing (leaks, clogs, toilets, faucets)
-Electrical (outlets, switches, fixtures – non-licensed work)
-HVAC (basic troubleshooting; EPA certification preferred)
-Appliances (refrigerators, stoves, disposals)
-Assist with unit turns, including punch-out work
-Help identify and correct life-safety and habitability issues
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas
-Coordinate with property manager on priorities and supply needs
-Work with vendors as needed for specialized repairs
-Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies (if applicable)
Qualifications
-2+ years of multifamily maintenance experience (Class B/C preferred)
-Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs
-Ability to work independently and manage priorities
-Familiarity with older buildings and deferred maintenance
-Basic hand and power tool proficiency
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
-Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
Preferred (But Not Required)
-EPA Universal Certification
-Experience with unit renovations or heavy turns
-Knowledge of local building codes and safety standards
