We built this one-of-a-kind porch swing from 2 old Fir doors!! You can’t beat the quality of old-growth lumber. And this fir is very stable and has a beautiful tight grain.

We kept as many details as possible: the doorknob holes, the hinge marks, the dowels/pegs, etc. This makes for a pretty cool one of a kind piece of furniture!! We also applied a natural beeswax finish for weather proofing.

We are using 1” sisal rope to hang the swing. And yes, the rope will go through the old doorknob holes which are in the armrest! Check out the pictures 👍
