Vintage Embossed Brass Coal Tinder Kindling Fireplace Scuttle Box Repoussé Victorian 
The box measures about 20-1/2" x 13" x 12" deep.  
These boxes were typically used to store coal or firewood near a fireplace.  The box is made of wood with an embossed brass overlay. 
This is a decorative and functional piece of furniture from the late Victorian or Edwardian period.
