The Charak Furniture Company, based in Boston (est. 1919), was a leading 20th-century furniture manufacturer of high-quality, hand-made & bench-made reproductions of traditional Colonial / Early American furniture. Charak thrived through the 1920’s and, unlike many American furniture manufacturers, survived the Depression of the 1930’s. Their vintage dining room chairs were typically made of solid mahogany featuring a classic Colonial style reflecting the elegance of 18th century craftsmanship. Today, these chairs are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
