We are looking for a passionate and patient Driving Instructor to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide behind-the-wheel instruction to students of all skill levels — from nervous first-time drivers to court-referred adults seeking license reinstatement.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct behind-the-wheel driving lessons for new, remedial, and court-referred students
Provide clear, patient instruction in defensive driving techniques and Florida traffic laws
Assess student skill levels at the start of each lesson and adapt instruction accordingly
Guide students through DMV road test preparation and practice routes
Accompany students during official DMV road tests using school vehicles
Facilitate in-person traffic classroom courses (BDI, IDI, ADI, TLSAE) as assigned
Complete all session logs, student progress reports, and DHSMV documentation accurately
Perform pre- and post-lesson vehicle safety inspections and report maintenance issues
Maintain a professional, punctual, and supportive presence with every student
Stay current on Florida traffic laws, DHSMV regulations, and school curriculum updates
✅ Required Qualifications
Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record (no suspensions, DUIs, or excessive violations in the past 5 years)
Minimum 5 years of licensed driving experience
Must be at least 21 years of age
Ability to pass a Florida DHSMV background check
Florida Driving Instructor License OR eligibility to obtain one (OPDTS will sponsor you)
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Strong knowledge of Florida traffic laws and safe driving practices
Excellent communication skills and patience with students of all ages
