Hi, this is Totoro, a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Extended Passenger Van.

They live under a big camphor tree in Jacksonville, waiting for someone who wants to finish a camper project without starting from scratch.

If you’ve been searching for a van build, you know the hardest part is starting from nothing. Buying a bare van and building it out takes time, money, and more trial-and-error than most people admit. Totoro already has the major conversion work done—bed, sink, fan, wiring, storage—plus extra parts included. You’re not starting at zero; you’re stepping into a project that’s halfway there, at a fraction of the cost.

5.9L Magnum V8 engine – tons of torque, well-known for durability.

175,902 miles

Converted to a camper: full-size bed with storage underneath, sink with pump and water tanks, 8’ pull-out table, Maxxair ventilation fan, electrical panel, LED lighting, switches, and pre-wiring for solar above the cab.

Exterior power plug (110v) for campsite or home charging.

Exterior water intake system for easy refilling.

Trailer hitch with ball – can tow gear, small trailers, or bikes.

Pre-wired for a backup camera (camera already mounted, just needs a head unit).

Painted trim work included, along with a box of project parts.

If sold at full asking price, I’ll include a Renogy 100W solar panel with mounts.

The honest part:

Has problems turning over. About 90% sure it’s the starter—you’ll need to bring a jump battery or plan for a tow. I can jump it for a test drive.

Battery is less than a year old (receipt included, pro-rated for 3 years from Walmart).

Transmission slips at higher speeds.

Check engine light is on for smog system.

Bought in 2020 from the second owner with maintenance records; all my service since then has been at RPM Automotive. I’ve camped around Florida, pulled things apart for upgrades, and now Totoro’s ready for someone else to carry the project forward.

Price: $2,500 OBO.

A solid platform for a stealth camper—with the torque to tow—ready for the right person to take me on the road again.
