These are fine condition Pioneer NTFS VHS tapes. My ask is 800 for the full set, which is well below market price. Part of the reason is that I do not want to deal with shipping, or online marketplaces, the other is me being lenient with my appraisal. If I were to sell on Ebay at 1000 dollars, I would actually take back less than my claim of 800 on here anyways and the buyer would be paying hundreds more. This set is so rare at this point that it is hard to find a reference point for it based on market history, but I have provided the prices of the closest listings to mine, most sales on the market are the dubbed version which I have given as a reference point for the price difference between the dubbed and subbed versions. On their own, these tapes can individually sell for 200 dollars a piece, accounting for wear there is very little markup on account of it being a complete set.
The individual tapes themselves are roughly double the rarity and price of the dubbed tapes of the same set. I purchased them for roughly 600 dollars about 7 years ago. I am not a fan of speculative buying, and did not care if these went up dramatically in value or became worthless when I got them, I bought them to own them as a collectors item. In the time of me owning them, the series has seen a rise in cultural impact and popularity which has driven up the price of these tapes.
Since then, these have never been set in direct sunlight, they have been handled primarily with gloves, and have generally been treated very well. The tapes have only really been used by me once in order to test their quality in a good system that left absolutely no damage on them. By all accounts the actual tapes themselves would be graded by an authority above 9.6. They are in unprecedentedly good, original condition, as demonstrated in the pictures.
The cases all have minor wear, some expected wear of unsealed VHS tapes such as the edges of the holds losing color and some wear from previous owners. The most notable wear on the cases is a fold on the right side of the second case, and the paper at the tips of the flaps coming undone on cases 2 and 4. All wear is explicitly visible in the pictures.
I would prefer to not sell these to a speculative trader. Yes, you could flip these in their current state and make more than I am selling them for, but I would prefer them to go to somebody who actually wants them rather than get resold forever and pick up more and more damage until they're worthless. I loved having these for a long time. The price I have is not "I know what I got!", instead I actually have receipts from the market to demonstrate their worth. I am totally willing to negotiate or barter either part of or the full price of the tapes as long as it's the right deal. I would also like to sell these locally and quickly and that is a good point of leverage for any buyers.
