This is a collectible aluminum 20" Dahon D5 CIAO whic was top of the line in its time and a welcome quality build to the flimsy bikes offered today. It is a well built well maintained sweet little machine and a great commuter bike due to size and quick folding unfolding. (see specs below). Looks good, rides well, stores easily. This is not the typical hamster in a wheel folding bike.
It has a beautiful and rare amethyst stone frame, step-through, 5 speed internal hub,cantilever hand brakes front and rear, luggage rack on back with full fender, reflectors front and rear, mudflap in rear. Great Biological breathable two-tone seat that is comfortable and folds down and latches securely in place. There is no rust or damage to bike or paint, not even on the chain.
There are a few small maintenance chores to attend to, a broken spoke in the rear wheel, brakes need adjusting and tires lose air but it has been in storage so might be from sitting. They are Schwalbe Marathon Racer tires with good tread. It rides like a cruiser, smooth and stable due to the elongated frame and good center of gravity with the step-through design. It will accomodate riders from 4'10" to 6'4" and handle up to 230 lbs!
I bought it to ride in the parks and the ONLY reason I am selling this treasure is due to a back injury.I live three floors up with no elevator. It is lightweight but I can't lift anything over 5 lbs doctor's orders. Comes wit a new travel bag and a guarantee you will find it such a pleasure you will keep it forever. Pickup only.
