World War I aircraft propeller made into a clock. The propeller is from a DH4-Liberty L-12 engine possibly built by B. Shoninger Company of New Haven CT during WWI under the name Eagle. Used as a light bomber during the war by British and American forces. After the War the DH4 aircraft became a workhorse in the newly formed U.S. Mail Service.
The clock is the center portion of the propeller, made from laminated mahogany wood. Around the face of the clock "B.A.P. 73766", "Plane DH4" , "Standing RPM 1470" and other markings are stamped. Clock is working.
