Look at the Federal Reserve Act, Income Tax Act, Social Security Act, Patriot Act, No Child Left Behind Act, and the list goes on and on. Neither party is there to fix the problems, just create new ones. The reason the GOP isn't land sliding elections is cause they haven't fixed any problems. Up till this point in history the Republicans have done little in the way of fixing democrat created problems and vice versa. Both Parties use deficit spending like its going out of style, create laws that violate civil rights, enlarge the federal government and its powers, and further dumb down Americans. The democrats and republicans are only there to create problems not solve or fix. If anyone wanted to fix our problems we would have no income tax, federal reserve, welfare, patriot act, or No Child Left behind act. We would have also let the banks fail and let the market work itself out. But no..... democrats and republicans had to get involved because they wanted to say they saved the country from a crisis... Those 2 parties are only there to take credit for the other party's failure. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Ya know I read quite a few different blogs/posts a day and wonder where people get the notion that things are any different then they were 20+ years ago. I mean I understand Obama is screwing things up in a major way, but I also know that this has been going on for decades now. Every administration is taking away rights slowly but surely. Our Constitution has been under attack since 1909. Both Democrats and Republicans alike have been nibbling away at our country's true finest hour, the hour those men came together to sign our country's greatest documents, The Declaration of Independence and US Constitution. I often ask a question I will probably never get an answer to, Why do people believe anything the Democrats or Republicans say?? I mean really, come on now. When one party fails the other is right behind it saying they were right. Republicans, not conservatives, have ruined our nation's chance to get back to the business of our founding fathers. They along with democrats have worked so hard to take away our rights as citizens. I went to UF for 4 years and have learned that there is corruption on all levels in our government whether it be federal, state, or local. Obama is in office because GW ruined the reputation of the GOP so bad that people clammed up and went with the lesser of 2 evils ideology, instead of using the critically thinking ideology when it came to voting. How could any true conservative vote for McCain?? People may say I wasted my vote when i voted for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party, but atleast i didn't sell out my own beliefs in order to vote on a winning candidate. This country will never get any better as long as people continue to vote for dims and republicans. they have both proven that they have sold out to the highest bidder and that bidder is not the American people. ]]></description>

I never said big business itself was the problem. them controlling the government is the problem. Giving a non human thing human rights is what i am complaining about. I believe in the free market. But when money controls the government, the government is no longer about working for the people. And who promotes selfish wants?? Democrats and Republicans. No Child left behind act?? Republican pushed for it and got it, further strengthening the socialist education system. Foreign invasions that never had to take place was a Republican and Democrat push. <br>

"Complaining about big bus. & then wanting the products they produce is hypocritical. The car you drive is big business. You bought it. TV, refrigerator, computer you use to complain etc. Classic Liberal I am."<br>

I love the way people start name calling without knowing any facts what so ever. I voted for Ron Paul in the primaries and Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution party in the general election. Conservatives want Big business out of the government to. Because as we all know more people in government = bigger government. I don't drive a car but thanks for knowing everything. And I do shop at only certain businesses. I have not stepped foot inside Wal Mart in 7 years. They purposefully hire dumb people in order to keep wages low, so I chose not to shop their. I like shopping in stores that have competent employees and stores that take pride in their products and services. Your statement shows how one sided your views are and is probably a good reason you either voted for a republican or democrat in this past election. To say that its only the democrats fault or only the republicans fault is just silly.<br>

Chrysler wasn't crying when Reagan Bailed them out in the 80's or the banks during the Savings and Loans crisis of the late 80's early 90's when Bush Sr. was in charge. Or when Bush jr. bailed out the banks and mortgage giants, and investment firms. All these acts by Republicans. No one said it was one sides fault more than the other. like I said lesser of 2 evils is no longer good enough for our great nation. we have suffered tremendously from that mind set. We haven't had a president or congress that has been for the people in atleast a centuries time. I said that people have willing given up their rights in the name of false security(both economically and defensively). History proves that big business gets what it wants when they want it, but the little guy(not the welfare folks or food stamp folks) gets screwed over because their minority rights are not protected. The majority(poor and wealthy) get what they want when they want it, but the minority middle class foots the bill for both, also known as the working class. Everyone knows the poor take advantage of hard working folks, and so do the ones that make even more off their hard work also known as CEO's and board of directors. Then they use their money to buy legislation. That is not what our founding fathers wanted. There is no equality in this country when it comes to politics. Poor people vote democrat because they want free stuff and Wealthy people vote republican because they want to buy legislation to also get free stuff. No one ever talks about corporate welfare, but in reality it costs the working class more money than poor mans welfare. When companies can turn profits then turn around and get welfare money from the gov. its just wrong. Point is people at the top and bottom take advantage of the hard workers in the middle.  <br>

<description><![CDATA[No matter what party the people in Washington DC are they have an opportunity to be as great as our founding fathers, if they really wanted to be. Lets face it for the past 100 years or so there has been legislation passed in favor of a very small group of folks and it continues today. Corporations getting human rights, Central Banking System, Labor Tax, Retirement Tax, Invasion of Privacy Bills, Bailouts, and countless wars that never had to be fought. All for what?? Since 1909 the USA started turning into England, something our Founding Fathers fought so hard to get away from. Both parties have benefited greatly from these actions as the the masses suffer depressions, recessions, foreclosures, bankruptcies, and enslaved by the currency of the nation. Thomas Jefferson once said that democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. Well now its morphed into something far worse. Now our country is ruled by the top 5 percent and they are taking away the rights of the other 95 percent. <br>
<br>
But today.....or any other day could be the day we can move in the right direction. Create a tax code that taxes consumption rather than labor, strip corporations of their human label and leave those rights to real people, take back control of issuing currency, repeal the Patriot Act, stop rewarding failure with money, and most important..... start working for "The People" of this nation again as a whole and restore the constitution back to the way it was. Democrats and Republicans have lost sight of where we all started TOGETHER and have allowed greed to guide them in legislation. It wasn't too long ago,  233 years ago we fought TOGETHER for our freedom and they have sold that freedom off to the highest bidder. I would challenge congress and the president to take the advice of the King of Pop and start the change with the man in the mirror. <br>

Our problems lie so much deeper than voting for democrats or republicans. Both parties have lost sight of America and their fellow countrymen and women. I say its time to educate our elected officials in a lesson of Unity and Patriotism. Sometimes i think they skip the part of the pledge that says: One nation under God invisible with liberty and Justice for all. Oh yeah if you are going to reply to this don't blame one party more than the other because it doesn't matter which party is worse. Lesser of 2 evils is no longer acceptable for the greatest nation on earth, that mind set belongs in third world nations where people have no sense of unity and patriotism. <description><![CDATA[None of this crap is ever going to stop when the American people follow like a heard of sheep in the 2 party system. I aways hear about lesser of 2 evils.... I never thought Americans would ever become dumb enough to follow that rule. Democrats and Republicans have proven throughout the past 100 years of America's history that neither party really gives a crap about the American people, maybe in a election year but that is the extent of it. Democrats blame Republicans and vice versa, while the true independent voters see elections as a rigged card game. democrats and republicans have come and gone, yet our problems still persist. Well, both sides are half right... dems and reps are to blame... they are the only 2 parties to run this country. And as long as the American people continue to follow blindly a system in which hasn't worked for them in 100 years or so, things will continue to go down hill. MLK was conservative, but was never dumb enough to associate himself with the corrupt GOP or DNC. Real conservatives vote for Chuck Baldwin and Ron Paul... Conservatives vote for real smaller government not creating another usuless department of the federal government(Homeland Security). Conservatives vote to not use deficit spending as a way to make another nation comply with our standards. Our founding fathers wanted to lead the world by example not by force. They wanted to show the world that many different men and women could come together and live civilly amongst each other, without pushing their beliefs on one another. But in the past 100 years our government both dems and reps have done the exact opposite. They have used scare tactics to get the people to willingly give up their rights(Federal Reserve Act, Social Security Act, Patriot Act, Bailouts of the 80's,and 2000's). They have pinned Americans against each other in hopes of keeping power. Because once the nation opens its eyes to the fact that money has taken over politics, the people will no longer vote in a democrat or republican. They will see the clear, yet, not so publicized candidates that are independents, constitutionalist's, and libertarians. But the struggle will continue as money will try to take over them too. Thomas Jefferson saw monied corporations as one of civil liberties greatest threats. <br>

I don't need to know where everything came from or where i am going when I die if I go anywhere at all. All I know is I need to provide for my family, do right to others, and treat people as I would like to be treated. That can be found in many religious text but thats not where I got it from. I figured out those things without ever reading a religious text or hearing a religious person telling me. It just seems like the right thing to do. I know there is something greater than myself, what it is I don't know, alot of people call that greater thing god, others call it unknown. It shouldn't matter if God is in politics or not. Being a good person and treating others as you would like to be treated can be instilled in people without the mention of god. God is in essence Everything in this universe working together to evolve and mutate over billions of years. Example. A man kills another man because he raped his daughter. The man who killed the other is playing god, deciding whether that man lives or dies. God is everything good and bad, at least in my OPINION that my vision of God. Please note the word " Opinion". We can all agree to disagree on this subject.]]></description>

<title><![CDATA["Conspiracy, they're after all of us.'"    ]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[This month will mark the 46th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. A recently declassified oral history by Brigadier General Godfrey McHugh, President Kennedy's military aide on the Dallas trip, sheds new light on the critical hours after the shooting. McHugh makes startling claims about Lyndon Johnson's behavior in the wake of the assassination.<br>
<br>
The interview with McHugh, originally conducted for the John F. Kennedy Library in 1978, remained closed for 31 years. It was finally declassified in the spring of 2009. I just happened to be working at the Kennedy Library on the day the interview was opened to the public and have used it for the first time in my new book, The Kennedy Assassination -- 24 Hours After.<br>
<br>
After being informed at Parkland Hospital that Kennedy was dead, Johnson raced back to Air Force One, where he waited for Mrs. Kennedy and the body of the slain president, and made preparations to take the Oath of Office. Back at the hospital, the Kennedy group loaded the body into a coffin, forced their way past a local justice of the peace, and hurried back to Love Field for the long ride back to Washington.<br>
<br>
It was standard practice for the plane to take off as soon as the commander-in-chief was onboard. Even after McHugh had ordered the pilot to take off, however, "nothing happened." According to the newly declassified transcript, Mrs. Kennedy was becoming desperate to leave. "Mrs. Kennedy was getting very warm, she had blood all over her hat, her coat...his brains were sticking on her hat. It was dreadful," McHugh said. She pleaded with him to get the plane off the ground. "Please, let's leave," she said. McHugh jumped up and used the phone near the rear compartment to call Captain James Swindal. "Let's leave," he said. Swindal responded: "I can't do it. I have orders to wait." Not wanting to make a scene in front of Mrs. Kennedy, McHugh rushed to the front of the plane. "Swindal, what on earth is going on?" The pilot told him that "the President wants to remain in this area."<br>
<br>
McHugh, like most members of the Kennedy entourage, did not know that Johnson was onboard. They believed that the new president was on his own plane flying back to Washington. If LBJ was on the plane, McHugh wanted to see for himself. Since he had not seen Johnson in the aisle -- and at 6'4" Johnson would be tough to miss -- McHugh assumed that he must then be in the bedroom. When he checked there Johnson was nowhere to be seen. The only place on the plane he had not inspected was the bathroom in the presidential bedroom.<br>
<br>
What McHugh claimed to have witnessed next was shocking. "I walked in the toilet, in the powder room, and there he was hiding, with the curtain closed," McHugh recalled. He claimed that LBJ was crying, "They're going to get us all. It's a plot. It's a plot. It's going to get us all.'" According to the General, Johnson "was hysterical, sitting down on the john there alone in this thing."<br>
<br>
I soon discovered that McHugh had told a similar story when he spoke by phone with Mark Flanagan, an investigator with the House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA). Ironically, McHugh gave the interview to the HSCA a week before he sat down with the Kennedy Library in May 1978. "McHugh had encountered difficulty in locating Johnson but finally discovered him alone," Flanagan wrote in his summary to the Committee. Quoting McHugh, the investigator noted that the General found Johnson "hiding in the toilet in the bedroom compartment and muttering, 'Conspiracy, conspiracy, they're after all of us.'"<br>
<br>
Author Christopher Anderson claimed that McHugh shared a similar, although slightly more dramatic, version of this story when he interviewed the General for his book Jackie after Jack, published in 1998.<br>
<br>
If true, the story is explosive and reveals a completely different side of Johnson than the collected, calm presence he otherwise managed to convey throughout the hours and days following Kennedy's death.<br>
<br>
But how credible is McHugh's account?<br>
<br>
It is, of course, impossible to confirm or deny whether a private encounter took place between the two men, both of whom are now dead. There are a number of reasons to doubt McHugh's claim. The General intensely disliked Johnson and was fiercely loyal to JFK, and therefore had some reason to invent such a story. Most glaring, McHugh made no mention of what was surely a very memorable encounter in his long interview with William Manchester in 1964. It also stands to reason that if McHugh had witnessed Johnson in a state of utter breakdown, he would have told the story to others within the Kennedy camp. Surely, given how potentially damaging the story would be to LBJ, Kennedy partisans would have leaked it to the media at some point.<br>
<br>
Although it is impossible to prove, my gut reaction is that McHugh is telling the truth. We know that Johnson was a man capable of dramatic mood swings, and occasional fits of hysteria were not unusual. McHugh's account of LBJ's behavior is similar to RFK's description of a trembling and tearful Johnson at the 1960 Democratic Convention when it appeared that JFK might renege on his promise to include him on the ticket. It was not surprising behavior to those who knew him best.<br>
<br>
We also know from some eyewitnesses that LBJ's secret service agent, Rufus Youngblood, stood outside the door to the bedroom and controlled the traffic into the room. Aides went in and out, but it is possible that McHugh could have found LBJ alone in the bedroom suite.<br>
<br>
If true, though, why did McHugh wait until 1978 to tell this story? When Manchester interviewed him in May 1964, McHugh was still in the military, although only a few months away from retirement. Is it possible that he worried the story would be too damaging to his commander-in-chief?<br>
<br>
We will never know for sure, but McHugh's account is sure to add to the controversy surrounding that tragic November day in Dallas.<br>

Now have people voted for the wrong folks, of course. Thats a no brainer, but god has been sited as a major contributing factor in wars over thousands of years. If you are a god fearing person would you take god out of your life just because of that?? No. As I would never expect anyone to, thats just crazy. Most of the Muslim nations are considered to be third world nations or not so high up on the super power level.  None of those nations pose a serious threat to the USA. We have a perfect geographical spot with 2 big ass oceans to the east and west of us. 9/11 happened because of a glitch in the system. instead of fixing that glitch though we have just ignored that glitch and spent too much money in a dead end wars. Our enemies are not nations but merely a gorilla force that has no national foundation. Iran will never be able to reach the US and it's not the US's responsibility to keep the world safe. that is up to each individual nation to take responsibility for. Our worst enemy doesn't even need guns or bombs to destroy us. They just take control of our money supply and manipulate our country's wealth. They have their hands in ALL the politicians pockets, even the GOP's hands are dirty. Rockafeller's, Morgan's, and Stanley's may have helped build this nation, but it was at expense of the entire nation's  freedom . If every single person in a company is of a certain faith do we consider that company that faith's company?? No its just each individuals preference of faith. The founding fathers may have been religious BUT they did not want laws or legislation to dictated by any one faith. Freedom of Religion speaks for itself. This is a every faith nation. Whether you are a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, or Atheist we are all Americans. Our Constitution was written to make sure that no matter what your stance on the topic of god was you are accepted as an equal, as a American. There is a good reason why this country has never been declared by the government as any one religious faith. I haven't read much about the ALCU or whatever they are called, I have read historical books, and studied most all faiths throughout my college career and America is so unique in its ways of how they setup this great nation. When the first right given to the people is the freedom of speech, religion, press, and ability to assemble peacefully you know the founding fathers were wise beyond their years. Atheism is a religion and thus protected from persecution by the government or other person(s). When people are sworn into office they can take their oath on any religions text(bible, torrah, Qur'an, or whatever). If this were a Christian nation then the only option would be the bible, but its not.If you look at our country's values it follows many of the religions values. powers given to us by our creators could mean a wide range of things. Atheist could see the creator as their parents or earth or whatever they believe. Thats what makes this nation so great. No one religion is over the others. Freedom people, Freedom. Thats what this country used to be about. Now people are taking away rights in the name of national security, safety, economic hardships, and any other way they can. It's not just the democrats and its not just the republicans, its both. They just use religion as a way to divide the country. Back in the 17 and 18 hundreds they used freedom to unite us all as Americans. I thank our founding fathers for never declaring the USA any one religious faith, they left it up to "the people" to decide what faith they are, NOT THE FREAKING GOVERNMENT!!!! Oh and by the way the USA wasn't founded as a democracy , but as a Republic. Big difference. democracy is a nice term for mob rule, Republic gives protection to the minority from the majority. And I am not talking about skin color or nationality. Minority beliefs is what that refers to. It's what gives everyone the right to voice their opinion without fear of persecution, or atleast that is the way it used to be many many years ago. ]]></description>

Jefferson wrote voluminously to prove that Christianity was not part of the law of the land and that religion or irreligion was purely a private matter, not cognizable by the state. (Leonard W. A final example of Jefferson's separationism may be drawn from his founding of the University of Virginia in the last years of his life. Prepared to transform the College of William and Mary into the principal university of the state, Jefferson would do so only if the college divested itself of all ties with sectarian religion--that is, with its old Anglicanism now represented by the Protestant Episcopal Church. The college declined to make that break with its past, and Jefferson proceeded with plans for his own university well to the west of Anglican-dominated tidewater Virginia. In Charlottesville this new school ("broad & liberal & modern," as Jefferson envisioned it in a letter to [Joseph] Priestly of 18 January 1800) opened in 1825 with professorships in languages and law, natural and moral philosophy, history and mathematics, but not in divinity. In Jefferson's view, as reported in Robert Healey's Jefferson on Religion in Public Education, not only did Virginia's laws prohibit such favoritism (for divinity or theology was inevitably sectarian), but high-quality education was not well served by those who preferred mystery to morals and divisive dogma to the unities of science. Too great a devotion to doctrine can drive men mad; if it does not have that tragic effect, it at least guarantees that a man's education will be mediocre. What is really significant in religion, its moral content, would be taught at the University of Virginia, but in philosophy, not divinity. If Almighty God has made the mind free, one of the ways to keep it free is to protect young minds from the clouded convolutions of theologians. Jefferson wanted education separated from religion because of his own conclusions concerning the nature of religion, its strengths and its weaknesses, its dark past and its possibly brighter future. John Quincy Adams had a firm faith. If Christianity is proven by character, Adams was surely a Christian. This stubborn man whose motto was "Watch and Pray," spoke openly of his trust in God: but not for that did he win his nickname "Old Eloquence." Rather, it was for championing principle and attacking the institution of slavery. <br>
He was an unyielding patriarch, tough as the granite of his native New England. Every day he read two to five chapters of the Bible in the original Hebrew and Greek and drew strength from them. He prayed daily. Not content merely to read, he acted on what he read. So often did he put principle before party he became highly unpopular with his followers.<br>
John Quincy did not let their disapproval alter his course. "The Sermon on the Mount commends me to lay up for myself treasures, not on earth, but in Heaven. My hopes of a future life are all founded upon the Gospel of Christ..." he had written his father. After his single term as President, he returned to Congress.<br>
Christ was central to John's theology. When Unitarianism emerged, denying the divinity of Christ, Adams flirted with it, but the Bible soon convinced him the doctrine was false. Either Jesus is God incarnate and our path to salvation or we have none. With characteristic rectitude John wrote as much to his parents.<br>
"I find in the New Testament, Jesus Christ accosted in His own presence by one of his disciples as God, without disclaiming the appellation...I see him named in the great prophecy of Isaiah concerning him to be the mighty God."<br>

The Constitution<br>

The body of the Constitution makes no reference to God. The Constitution honors the Christian Sabbath. The President was given 10 days to sign a bill into law. The counting of the 10 days does not include the Sabbath. This is found in Article 1, Section 7, and Clause 2 which in part follows:<br>

The Paris Peace Treaty was the document which formally ended the Revolution and granted the United States independence from Great Britain. In a real sense, the United States formally became a nation on September 3, 1783.<br>
   When the United States became a nation, it was done in the “name of the most holy and undivided Trinity.” The preamble to this Treat states it is based upon the “Holy and undivided Trinity.” The concept of the holy Trinity is unique to Christianity. This statement means the United States was founded on the Christian faith. The complete Preamble follows:<br>

When this concept is applied to the Declaration of Independence, it is clear the reference to “All men are created equal,” was about the holy Trinity. The people of the United States are endowed by their Creator, the holy Trinity, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.<br>
   The God of the Bible is whom the United States is based upon. The unalienable rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness come from the Judeo/Christian God and no one else. He is the Rock of our Republic.<br>

<description><![CDATA[While Jefferson has been lionized by those who seek to drive religion from public life, the true Thomas Jefferson is anything but their friend. He was anything but irreligious, anything but an enemy to Christian faith. Our nation's third president was, in fact, a student of Scripture who attended church regularly, and was an active member of the Anglican Church, where he served on his local vestry. He was married in church, sent his children and a nephew to a Christian school, and gave his money to support many different congregations and Christian causes. <br>
<br>
Moreover, his "Notes on Religion," nine documents Jefferson wrote in 1776, are "very orthodox statements about the inspiration of Scripture and Jesus as the Christ," according to Mark Beliles, a Providence Foundation scholar and author of an enlightening essay on Jefferson's religious life. <br>
<br>
So what about the Jefferson Bible, that miracles-free version of the Scriptures? That, too, is a myth. It is not a Bible, but an abridgement of the Gospels created by Jefferson in 1804 for the benefit of the Indians. Jefferson's "Philosophy of Jesus of Nazareth Extracted From the New Testament for the Use of the Indians" was a tool to evangelize and educate American Indians. There is no evidence that it was an expression of his skepticism. <br>
<br>
Jefferson, who gave his money to assist missionary work among the Indians, believed his "abridgement of the New Testament for the use of the Indians" would help civilize and educate America's aboriginal inhabitants. Nor did Jefferson cut all miracles from his work, as Beliles points out. While the original manuscript no longer exists, the Table of Texts that survives includes several accounts of Christ's healings. <br>
<br>
But didn't Jefferson believe in the complete separation of church and state? After all, Jefferson's 1802 letter to the Baptists in Danbury, Conn., in which he cited the First Amendment's creation of a "wall of separation" between church and state, is an ACLU proof-text for its claim that the First Amendment makes the public square a religion-free zone. But if the ACLU is right, why, just two days after he sent his letter to the Danbury Baptists did President Jefferson attend public worship services in the U.S. Capitol building, something he did throughout his two terms in office? And why did he authorize the use of the War Office and the Treasury building for church services in Washington, D.C.? <br>

Jefferson's outlook on religion and government is more fully revealed in another 1802 letter in which he wrote that he did not want his administration to be a "government without religion," but one that would "strengthen … religious freedom."<br>

Any attempt to level all religions, and to make it a matter of state policy to hold all in utter indifference, would have created universal disapprobation, if not universal indignation." <br>

 Christianity has enjoyed many courtesies extended to them from society and this has led many Christians to consider those courtesies as rights. Courtesies such as prayer in school . The courtesy has been abused and so it is being rescinded . You are nto losing rights ,you are losing courtesy. You can pray anywhere you want. You can read your Bible anywhere you want. What you can not do is force other people to put their lives on hold and watch the show you put on to be seen of men. <description><![CDATA[HA thats how most Christians end a religious conversation, calling people blind and stopping short of calling some stupid. But hey thats great for you. Thats what I love about this country. FREEDOM OF RELIGION. But some Christians feel they have to push their religion on others. We agree to disagree on the subject of religion. Im not going to call you blind, I have alittle bit more respect for you then that. Like its been stated before neither side has absolute proof to prove its case to be correct. So the argument of god shouldnt even be an issue. Everyone should practice what they want to practice inside his or her home or house of religion. School is hard enough to explain things to kids. No school run prayers should be done in PUBLIC schools, because this nation is too diverse to preach one religion over the other. There are Christian and other religious schools all around for people to enroll their kids in. The reason things have gone wrong in this country is bad parenting. My parents raised me with strict guidelines, but never once made me go to church or read a bible. They let me figure out my spirituality on my own, by going out doing research and making my own educated decision. I happen to land on Buddhism. Christianity, Jeudaism, and Islam seem to be waging war their entire existence. In Buddhism, if someone doesn't believe thats perfectly fine. You won't get an argument out of them. Obviously I am still learning that restraint. Everyone has to believe in something and if Christianity does it for you then thats great. But please don't pray for me or try and convince me to believe in it. Really I think "god" created all religions because he knew the we were too diverse for one Religion. If people want to think that we came from nothing, then great for them. Its when people press their beliefs on other or even worse, on a nation, that goes against gods will of willful followers. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[The Bible and other rewritten and translated scriptures are alot like Fishing tales passed down from generation or friend to friend. They are told with 60 percent being correct and the rest is creativity. Where is the factual proof Someone ever split the red sea? Or turned water into wine?? The players maybe real, Jesus was a real person no one will go against that. Just like Moses and others. But when stories get passed down over generations the stories gain imagination as people tell the stories. Its sorta like the game telephone. The phrase starts out with one thing and ends with something almost completely different. The Bible out of all holly books is the worst when it comes to that. When you translate stories from one language to another the story loses its true meaning and emotional structure. I know that even our history has been altered as it has been passed down. The Bible is a pretty neat fictional book. I have studied religion for the better part of 4 years now while going to school. I have read the english versions of the Qur'an, the Torah, and the Bible. They all have truth within them. To a certain extent. When it comes down to it they all have very similar messages, but for some reason each thinks they are right and the others are wrong. It would be a real shame if god creates all these religions and people fight over which one is "the one". People are going to see what they want to see and that is that. Everyone on here has used selective reasoning in order to prove they are right. And with selective reasoning i could prove that FDR was the greatest president ever. But it wouldnt mean i was correct, it would just mean that i used selective talking points to prove my argument. The truth is no one has absolute proof to prove or disprove any religion. In the end religion relies on faith and faith is not absolute.]]></description>

The 1797 Treaty of Tripoli, specifically article XI, is commonly misused in editorial columns, articles, as well as in other areas of the media, both Christian and secular. We have received numerous questions from people who have been misled by the claims that are being made, namely, that America was not founded as a Christian nation. Advocates of this idea use the Treaty of Tripoli as the foundation of their entire argument, and we believe you deserve to know the truth regarding this often misused document. The following is an excerpt from David Barton's book Original Intent: <br>
To determine whether the "Founding Fathers" were generally atheists, agnostics, and deists, one must first define those terms. An "atheist" is one who professes to believe that there is no God; 1 an "agnostic" is one who professes that nothing can be known beyond what is visible and tangible; 2 and a "deist" is one who believes in an impersonal God who is no longer involved with mankind. (In other words, a "deist" embraces the "clockmaker theory" 3 that there was a God who made the universe and wound it up like a clock; however, it now runs of its own volition; the clockmaker is gone and therefore does not respond to man.) Today the terms "atheist," "agnostic," and "deist" have been used together so often that their meanings have almost become synonymous. In fact, many dictionaries list these words as synonym. 4<br>

Those who advance the notion that this was the belief system of the Founders often publish information attempting to prove that the Founders were irreligious. 5 One of the quotes they set forth is the following: <br>

The government of the United States is in no sense founded on the Christian religion. GEORGE WASHINGTON<br>
The 1797 Treaty of Tripoli is the source of Washington's supposed statement. Is this statement accurate? Did this prominent Founder truly repudiate religion? An answer will be found by an examination of its source. That treaty, one of several with Tripoli, was negotiated during the "Barbary Powers Conflict," which began shortly after the Revolutionary War and continued through the Presidencies of Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison. 6 The Muslim Barbary Powers (Tunis, Morocco, Algiers, and Tripoli) were warring against what they claimed to be the "Christian" nations (England, France, Spain, Denmark, and the United States). In 1801, Tripoli even declared war against the United States, 7 thus constituting America's first official war as an established independent nation. <br>
Throughout this long conflict, the four Barbary Powers regularly attacked undefended American merchant ships. Not only were their cargoes easy prey but the Barbary Powers were also capturing and enslaving "Christian" seamen 8 in retaliation for what had been done to them by the "Christians" of previous centuries (e.g., the Crusades and Ferdinand and Isabella's expulsion of Muslims from Granada 9). In an attempt to secure a release of captured seamen and a guarantee of unmolested shipping in the Mediterranean, President Washington dispatched envoys to negotiate treaties with the Barbary nations. 10 (Concurrently, he encouraged the construction of American naval warships 11 to defend the shipping and confront the Barbary "pirates" – a plan not seriously pursued until President John Adams created a separate Department of the Navy in 1798.) <br>
<br>
The American envoys negotiated numerous treaties of "Peace and Amity" 12 with the Muslim Barbary nations to ensure "protection" of American commercial ships sailing in the Mediterranean. 13 However, the terms of the treaty frequently were unfavorable to America, either requiring her to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars of "tribute" (i.e., official extortion) to each country to receive a "guarantee" of safety or to offer other "considerations" (e.g., providing a warship as a "gift" to Tripoli, 14 a "gift" frigate to Algiers, 15 paying $525,000 to ransom captured American seamen from Algiers, 16 etc. 17). The 1797 treaty with Tripoli was one of the many treaties in which each country officially recognized the religion of the other in an attempt to prevent further escalation of a "Holy War" between Christians and Muslims. 18 Consequently, Article XI of that treaty stated: <br>
<br>
As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion as it has in itself no character of enmity [hatred] against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen [Muslims] and as the said States [America] have never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries. 19<br>
This article may be read in two manners. It may, as its critics do, be concluded after the clause "Christian religion"; or it may be read in its entirety and concluded when the punctuation so indicates. But even if shortened and cut abruptly ("the government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion"), this is not an untrue statement since it is referring to the federal government. <br>
Recall that while the Founders themselves openly described America as a Christian nation (demonstrated in chapter 2 of Original Intent), they did include a constitutional prohibition against a federal establishment; religion was a matter left solely to the individual States. Therefore, if the article is read as a declaration that the federal government of the United States was not in any sense founded on the Christian religion, such a statement is not a repudiation of the fact that America was considered a Christian nation. <br>
<br>
Reading the clause of the treaty in its entirety also fails to weaken this fact. Article XI simply distinguished America from those historical strains of European Christianity which held an inherent hatred of Muslims; it simply assured the Muslims that the United States was not a Christian nation like those of previous centuries (with whose practices the Muslims were very familiar) and thus would not undertake a religious holy war against them. <br>
<br>
This latter reading is, in fact, supported by the attitude prevalent among numerous American leaders. The Christianity practiced in America was described by John Jay as "wise and virtuous," 20 by John Quincy Adams as "civilized," 21 and by John Adams as "rational." 22 A clear distinction was drawn between American Christianity and that of Europe in earlier centuries. As Noah Webster explained: <br>

The ecclesiastical establishments of Europe which serve to support tyrannical governments are not the Christian religion but abuses and corruptions of it. 23 <br>
Daniel Webster similarly explained that American Christianity was: <br>
Christianity to which the sword and the fagot [burning stake or hot branding iron] are unknown – general tolerant Christianity is the law of the land! 24<br>
Those who attribute the Treaty of Tripoli quote to George Washington make two mistakes. The first is that no statement in it can be attributed to Washington (the treaty did not arrive in America until months after he left office); Washington never saw the treaty; it was not his work; no statement in it can be ascribed to him. The second mistake is to divorce a single clause of the treaty from the remainder which provides its context. It would also be absurd to suggest that President Adams (under whom the treaty was ratified in 1797) would have endorsed or assented to any provision which repudiated Christianity. In fact, while discussing the Barbary conflict with Jefferson, Adams declared: <br>
The policy of Christendom has made cowards of all their sailors before the standard of Mahomet. It would be heroical and glorious in us to restore courage to ours. 25<br>
Furthermore, it was Adams who declared: <br>
The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were. . . . the general principles of Christianity. . . . I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God; and that those principles of liberty are as unalterable as human nature. 26<br>
Adams' own words confirm that he rejected any notion that America was less than a Christian nation. <br>
Additionally, the writings of General William Eaton, a major figure in the Barbary Powers conflict, provide even more irrefutable testimony of how the conflict was viewed at that time. Eaton was first appointed by President John Adams as "Consul to Tunis," and President Thomas Jefferson later advanced him to the position of "U. S. Naval Agent to the Barbary States," authorizing him to lead a military expedition against Tripoli. Eaton's official correspondence during his service confirms that the conflict was a Muslim war against a Christian America. <br>
<br>
For example, when writing to Secretary of State Timothy Pickering, Eaton apprised him of why the Muslims would be such dedicated foes: <br>
<br>
Taught by revelation that war with the Christians will guarantee the salvation of their souls, and finding so great secular advantages in the observance of this religious duty [the secular advantage of keeping captured cargoes], their [the Muslims'] inducements to desperate fighting are very powerful. 27<br>
Eaton later complained that after Jefferson had approved his plan for military action, he sent him the obsolete warship "Hero." Eaton reported the impression of America made upon the Tunis Muslims when they saw the old warship and its few cannons: <br>
[T]he weak, the crazy situation of the vessel and equipage [armaments] tended to confirm an opinion long since conceived and never fairly controverted among the Tunisians, that the Americans are a feeble sect of Christians. 28<br>
In a later letter to Pickering, Eaton reported how pleased one Barbary ruler had been when he received the extortion compensations from America which had been promised him in one of the treaties: <br>
He said, "To speak truly and candidly . . . . we must acknowledge to you that we have never received articles of the kind of so excellent a quality from any Christian nation." 29<br>
When John Marshall became the new Secretary of State, Eaton informed him: <br>
It is a maxim of the Barbary States, that "The Christians who would be on good terms with them must fight well or pay well." 30<br>
And when General Eaton finally commenced his military action against Tripoli, his personal journal noted: <br>
April 8th. We find it almost impossible to inspire these wild bigots with confidence in us or to persuade them that, being Christians, we can be otherwise than enemies to Musselmen. We have a difficult undertaking! 31 <br>
May 23rd. Hassien Bey, the commander in chief of the enemy's forces, has offered by private insinuation for my head six thousand dollars and double the sum for me a prisoner; and $30 per head for Christians. Why don't he come and take it? 32<br>
<br>
Shortly after the military excursion against Tripoli was successfully terminated, its account was written and published. Even the title of the book bears witness to the nature of the conflict: <br>
The Life of the Late Gen. William Eaton . . . commander of the Christian and Other Forces . . . which Led to the Treaty of Peace Between The United States and The Regency of Tripoli 33<br>
The numerous documents surrounding the Barbary Powers Conflict confirm that historically it was always viewed as a conflict between Christian America and Muslim nations. Those documents completely disprove the notion that any founding President, especially Washington, ever declared that America was not a Christian nation or people. (Chapter 16 of Original Intent will provide numerous additional current examples of historical revisionism.) <br>

And what is happening now as pertains to the government has been going on for decades.  Fox Corporation is the largest media outlet in the world. It along with its CEO dictates what hits the airwaves. The government, since 1913 have been working very hard to take away peoples rights. Both Democrats and Republicans work together to keep absolute power over the people. Getting people to believe there is a real difference between the 2. Both the GOP and DNC have their nuts in the medias mouth. Liberals don't own the media, they are apart of it, just like the neo cons. Not conservatives, neo cons... there is a huge difference. Neo Cons and liberals are very much alike. They both want absolute power, one side does it in the name of so called equality and the other side does it in the name of National Security and other fear tactics. Lets look at the last 3 republican and democrat presidents. Reagan-War on Drugs-epic failure, Reaganomics- helped create the savings and loans crisis. Bush Sr.-War on Iraq and the middle class- failure. Clinton- War on Poverty-epic failure, Dot com bubble, and deregulation. GW- War on Terror-epic failure, War in Iraq and Afghanistan- epic failure, Patriot Act(No more right to privacy), Enemy Combatant( People who speak out against the president in time of war), Illegal and endless detention, taking away the right of due process, and how can we for get the bailouts of AIG, Freddie and Fannie, and the banks. Now Obama- more bailouts, buying into the auto industry(also done by Reagan when the gov. saved Chrysler from going under in the 80's), Healthcare DEform(we all know the insurance companies wrote the bill), and all the publicly announced Czars( No Democrats arent the only ones who have Czars, Bush, his father, and reagan all had Czars too), and more to come in the future. <br>

The fact is neither party has a leg to stand on anymore. But as long as people continue to watch CNN, NBC, ABC, and Fox News they will get you to believe that there is division, when there truly is not. Every Democrat and republican in Washington with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 has a price he will sell his vote for. Money has taken over politics plain and simple. If you have enough money you can buy legislation. And that didnt just start a few years ago it started way back in the early 1900's. This is what happens when you let 3 families control a nation's currency and wealth. We can thank Rockafeller, Morgan, Stanley, and the Rothchilds for our country's demise. They enslaved a nation in the name of protection and the people bought it hook line and sinker. And this great nation has been in a political down turn ever since. Our Founding fathers are turning in their graves because of this country's willingness to push the responsibilities off on a very few and hope everything turns out fine. <br>

And on the religion note. The Founding Fathers may have been religious but they did not let god legislate within the government, but in their person lives at home. If kids want to say a prayer everyday before class they can do so, but you cannot subject everyone else to that prayer if they don't want to be subjected to it. I see groups of kids say prayers everyday, as I am a teacher, but they know that it shouldn't be taught to the others that don't want. If you want your kids in a school where prayer is regular go to a religious school. Dont force your beliefs on others. To me Jesus "freaks" or whatever you call them are hilarious. As a person who doesn't know where people came from, its funny to engage in conversations with people of faith. Because to end their argument they say you gotta have faith to the most important questions. LOL too funny. Humans have been around for how long now and Christianity is only 2000 years old??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.... I guess you just have to have faith. LoL I have nothing to lose by doing good to others and being respectful. If "god" exists he will understand people reserved judgment on the subject and any person who says you have to take Jesus into your heart or else face hell is just plain crazy. If there is a hell, the people who murder, cheat, and steal will be going there. Not people who have questions that cannot be answered. Jesus was a man, and if you believe in the Christian faith he was the son of god. But if god truly exists then we are all children of god. Jesus was just a middle man. Now that hes gone people can have a direct relationship with god. I hate middle men anyways. not saying i hate Jesus, just the thought of a middle man. So please keep your bibles and other scripture inside your home or Church walls. I don't wanna hear about 2000 year old story tales. I am great without all that corrupted scripture. The Bible is nothing more than Nostradamous vague predictions. Hell I bet you i can write a book with vague descriptions like in the bible and in 2000 years most of them will come true.  See that is an opinion by you and others. No facts to support the claim at all. But hey its all good. Some people need more to cling onto then others. Its hard for me to believe that we evolved from nothing, but for me to try and believe that Jesus isn't dead is pretty much near impossible. No one knows for certain with any kind of proof that heaven or hell even exists. Like I said people cling to the term "god" as a way of answering the unknown. But faith nor science will prove the other completely wrong. I mean science I think stands better odds, but I don't think the question what created everything will ever be answered with supporting facts. Personally I think Religion is the worlds biggest fraud, but people need god to answer their problems. I think people dont give themselves enough credit for answering their own problems and giving god or Jesus credit for it. <br>

And on a side note. how can anyone believe that "god" created the earth in 7 days?? I mean come on now. If religion wants to stand any kind of shot at being credible it has to get more realistic. Why not say 7 thousand years?? that sounds alittle bit more realistic, not much but some. And Jesus turning water into wine... Come on... Heaven and Hell?? that is just silly.... If god wanted everyone to believe in him or her or it, then why hasn't he or she or it done or put something on earth to prove "god" exists. Because to date nothing has ever been proven. I keep hearing: well, you just have to have faith.... and then those same people call evolutionist crazy for thinking we evolved from apes or micro organisms. at least science has something of substance to go on. something that has definition atoms, electrons, protons, neutrons, etc... With faith you have a book written thousands of years ago in a different language that has been rewritten and translated, which as we all know its hard to translate emotion and certain phrases from one language to another. I give muslims and jews alittle more credit though. books were written once and most of their followers read the scripture in the original language. <br>

I don't think so. The bible is a big story. It has been translated and rewritten, it adds a nice touch of imagination. Jesus was no more a son of god then anyone else. I am a very happy person. not very much stress at all. I for one, am not missing a relationship with Jesus. I have a great relationship with my wife and kids, and they are all i need in my life. Science answers all the questions i need answered, like how did sperm turn into a child and is birthed. Its not a miracle, its an exact science. But were did everything come from, doesnt really even matter. The Past is the past and the future in what is to come. So why even worry about the how we got here, it doesnt matter. Live your life with love and kindness and you will be as happy as you can be. I guess if it takes "god" to get you to do it then I guess that works for you guys. But I am great just the way things are now for me and I don't have any kind of relationship with Jesus. ]]></description>

The ones that don't(sum even in high political seats) go against gods will and twists verses and other part of the religion to justify his or her actions. In reality religion has caused more wars than any other issue in the past 2000 years. The Christians, Jews, and Muslims fought for 100's of years over religion. All for what??? nothing, in the end no one was a winner. The idea of God was created by man as a quick answer to, Where did we come from?. People didnt want to accept the correct answer which is nobody knows. People started saying they saw god and everybody became in awe of this person or persons. Come on people are willing to believe that, and call 9/11 conspiracy theorist crazy?? Wow.... God is just a name for the unknown. It fills that void that you have in your life. There are higher powers in this world and in our universe, but to think that Jesus or any other prophet saw this image of god and god told them stories and what not, that just sounds kind of crazy. I mean i can sit here all day and predict there is going to be a great flood in the coming centuries, or predict massive storms never seen by the eyes of man before. Hell those things are bound to happen. The point of all this is that man evolved from something. What?? I don't know yet, nothing has been proven correct yet. But I live my life the I see fit and being kind to people and helping others in need is human nature to me, not taught to me as the words of god. I know there is something greater than me in this world, I know that much, but what it is i don't know for sure. I refer to the powers that be as god but not in the sense all these religious people view god. I wish future generations have these same debates and one day figure out what is truth and what is imagination. And writting this post makes me realize why they are keeping god out of public schools. If someone came to school with this theory and presented it well there is no way that he or she could lose the debate. because debates boild down to facts, and there very little factual proof that "God" as described by religion exists.but there is proof of evolution, not within the human species, but within every other animal. Which leaves a high probability of humans evolving from something. I find it funny when people put soo much faith in god creating them, then turn around and call someone crazy for thinking that a chemical reaction in just the right state created the universe and everything that has evolved in it. Neither side can prove their point definitively and yet  both sides call each other crazy... Religion will continue to plague mankind as it has for centuries now. Just think about how much science could have been discorvered by scientist if it were for the church crucifying and imprisoning them for their work. The Jews and Muslims both also slowed down mans progress in the name of keeping your books believable. This world is only a few big discoveries away from closing the door on religion as we know it today. Its only a matter of time.]]></description>

Hopefully russia will send its S-300 and S-400 missles into israel and cure that nation of it's sorrow and foul history. I can't blame any nation living in the middle east for wanting Nukes, after all israel has more than 200 and will not allow IAEA inspections at all, not even a member. <br>
so fuck israel and all the semites, let them glow like the sun. We can and should be drilling for oil on our own shores. Not buying foreign oil,...but maybe you know why it is that we Can't? Maybe you know about the agreement with the Saudi's and other Arab Nations. Maybe you know iran did not sign this historical and almost secret Oil Treaty,..... How much do you know? <br>

The part that really cracked me up was when you write "I for one hope and pray...". Anyone else see the irony in this. Hypocrite seems like a strong description to use. You blast religion for a bunch of problems then turn to hope and prayer. That sounds like a religious fella to me.<br>
All religions have their crazies and radicals. Christianity, Judaism, Hiduism, etc. I do not consider somebody who kills in the name of their religion to actually in their heart believe in that religion. Most of the major faiths in the world hold to the same basic beliefs and priciples. Most of which can be described with the Ten Commanments as one example. Still trying to figure out the Muslims on this one but the rest seem to be consistant. With exception to the Muslims, when a radical claiming to be a part of a religion commits a crime in the name of it, those religious leaders denounce the person and their violent actions. So to lump the radical zealots in with sane moderates who keep to themselves and respect the faiths of others is painting with broad strokes and a bit unfair.]]></description>

BTW I do agree with the main point this debates been active on, Freedom of choice, I don't care either way you go Believe in GOD or Not, But the my main gripe is about FORCING religion beliefs down anybody's throat, or a mandated doctrine that it must be in schools, Currency, or any type of pledge other than religion unto itself. Freedom to choose is the ground work of where this Country was founded upon, and that Includes freedom of Choice to go with it or not go with it. And to never let any one entity [political] or religion to become the supreme authority over the people.  Basically , a system of checks and balances! Period.  But NON the less, Freedom to CHOICE, instead of being forced! Because someone took it to the courts with deep pockets and said in a Motion, grant this decision and it will save our society, Thats their agenda NOT MINE, I mind my own business by adhering to Freedom of Choice, instead of forcing everyone else to go my way because I took it to the Courts. I don't do what these young people do, cause My Parents took enough time and energy to teach me values that come into thought at any time when I'm about to do something fucked Up, and at that moment, comes into my Mind should I do this or NOT! At that point It all comes down to! You either make a bad choice with no regards to whom or whatever or your conscious tells you to STAND DOWN and not proceed with whatever it is you were gonna do! PERIOD. Its always been about choices GOOD or BAD. But non the less CHOICES. [Freedom to Choose]  So If religion can instill the same thought process to govern one's self to not make a bad choice, Then FINE, Great, Run with it.  But again there's more way to skin a cat than just ONE WAY.  Dont blame lack of religion in the schools or where ever on whats going on with our adults and Young people. BLAME IT ON WHO DIDN'T TEACH THEM RIGHT FROM WRONG, when they were young, We as young sprout-lings are who we are Now as adults, Unless YOU CHOOSE to abandon your upbringing for a darker exsistance. Again its all about CHOICES, But the bottom line is TO BE ABLE TO CHOOSE= Freedom.  AND debating freedom is a Political topic.    BTW:  This JMO, and not written in stone or forced upon anybody. Then I want all the taxes I have paid and my parents paid into everyone elses public schools that I nor any of my brothers ever attended. Don't give me for the good of society arguement either. The public school system has its exceptions but for the most part is another failed government run institution. The schools should be given back to the communities, run and funded by those communities without the federal government involved. You want your child to go to a good school then the people in that community with school children should pony up and hire accomplished educators and fund their childs school and education. Stop the taxing. If your childs education is important to you, you will find a way and pay for it out of pocket. If you cannot afford the cost of funding a childs education then for the good of society, have a little personal restraint and don't have any until you can afford it. I'm not saying nobodys allowed to have children. just do it without deferring the cost of raising the child to the taxpayers. I believe all schools should be privatized and competition will bring about a better education at a lower cost for all. How bout the Florida Lotto that was supposed to pay for public education. Still the majority of my taxes go to fund gang riddled public schools that nobody in my family has ever attended. My family is not wealthy, we prioritize education above cars, jewelry and other material BS. ]]></description>

Below is just one definition from the merriam-webster dictionary. Putting Christianity in the group of religions does not make it wrong or a bad thing. I try to incorporate Christian values in my daily life and at no time wrote any of this in anger or in an attempt to demean any Christians. Just trying to present some info to the debate but somebodys going to get pissed anyway. But like I wrote earlier I am opnionated and can't help myself. Are there any support groups for this affliction? Being opinionated, not Christianity. I have to write this because somebody might take the previous sentence out of context.<br>

Whether or not this country was founded on Judeo-Christian values depends on what history books you read. If you use the secular government school handbooks then our founding fathers were all atheist or agnostic or forced to go to church by their mommies. Read the actual documents, letters and discussions written by the hands of our founding fathers and you will find most of them were extremely involved in their christian faith and that faith did impact the writing of the constitution and declaration of independence. The separation of church and state exists to prevent the government from forcing its citizens to follow one faith e.g. the Church of England back in the day. It does not mean a teacher or student is not allowed to say grace before lunch or a prayer before taking a test. To force others to participate with you would be, in my opinion, contray to the spirit of the founding fathers' lesson in freedom of religion. The huge majority of people on this planet are spiritual. From the christians, muslims and jews to the wickins. Spirituality is a big part of their life. Having five minutes set aside during a school day for anyone who wants to participate in a private or group prayer according to their belief is not in violation of any law. One of the previous posters hit the nail on the head when they mentioned the ACLU. The drive to remove all spirituality from society is a communist tactic to herd more and more people into the arms of the government. This is why people of faith were persecuted during the reigns of Stalin, Hitler and Mao. Even today in Russia where communism is trying to make a comeback and in China, christianity and other religions are persecuted and people are imprisoned and sometimes murdered. You have to research all the info available. You have to look at the motives and associations of the publishers and writers. Everything has a spin on it from both sides. I do not attend a church but believe there is a God and we were created not evolved from primates. My belief, right or wrong. Communism is also a belief and has been proven wrong time and time again. It removes individual thought and motivation to create and accomplish. Everything is accomplished through force and deception. This is why the ACLU never comes to the rescue of anyone of faith when they are wrongly persecuted. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[get over this hurdle, that Christianity is NOT  religion. saying that you believe in  GOD, you do well. but even the demons believe that. the practice of religion plaques most of the world. notice the word plaque, as in not a good practice. i believe it is safe to say, that anyone reading this would desire to go to heaven. assuming you believe i such a place.nothing good you could ever do will get you to heaven. no good work, no ritual of any kind. no religious practice of any kind. let me try and illustrate. if you drove 100 miles and you drove the first 99 with out breaking the law but that last mile you were speeding and  you get pulled over. you will get fined for speeding. the cop does not consider the other 99 miles. basically, your good behavior does not make up for your bad. but some or most people think that some how that they can be good and when they do a bad thing even a cuss word that some how GOD will look past the bad behavior.good works will not make up for bad behavior. if you break mans law you are indebted to society. if you break GODS laws you are indebted to GOD. since you can't do good works how do you pay your debt to GOD? you can't. but someone else can pay it for you. which is what happened. GOD  payed it for you. religion is the belief that somehow we can be good enough to make up for a bad behavior. or trying to reconcile with GOD. Christianity is excepting that GOD reconciled with us.  he not only became your lawyer, but he also took your punishment. problem is, most will never except this. all words have meanings and when you use the word religion, Christianity does not fall with in the definition of religion.   <br>

Period, that is just wrong. That goes against the founding of this nation. If you want to live in a Christian nation then i suggest Mexico. They as a nation love some jesus down there and they are doing well. Freedom of Speech, Press, and Religion. First Amendment. So if America is anything it is a Freedom of Religion Nation. <br>

I am a born again Christian and I agree with you! No "RELIGION" should be in charge! That is what America was built on- Freedom "OF" Religion and NOT Freedom "FROM" Religion as in "The Church of England".  However, I say let's take religion out of school and put God back in! I never saw religion do anything for anybody except cause division, pride and arrogance. But without God, all things are permissable. Let me explain. Up until they kicked God out of school in 1962, the 2 biggest complaints from teachers were chewing gum in class and running in the halls. Now with no prayer and no God, our children are bringing knives and guns to school and killing each other, they are having sex in  elementary school and our babies are having babies, etc. Religion does not change people for the good, but a PERSONAL relationship with Jesus Christ does. Again, I will explain. Before I was born again in 1989, I was a "religious" church goer to a very large and popular denominational church. I was there almost every Sunday 2nd row from the front, however, on the street, you could not tell me apart from any other non christian person.  I smoked, I partied, the most vile words used to come  forth from my mouth, I slept around, etc. Then on Nov. 19, 1989 I asked Jesus to come into my heart and He did. I am forever changed and religion did NOT do that, Jesus did!<br>
Also, you said in your post "I believe in god", well I want you to know I mean no disrespect but the devil himself believes in God, but my question is, "Do you KNOW God?" Trust me, it's not the same! Again, I am not trying to disrespect you at all because I know where you are coming from, I used to think the same way! <br>
And even though I did not vote for President Obama and do not agree with him or his policies, I will not be on here bashing him as that does not change anything. I will however, pray for his heart to be changed.<br>
And now lastly, I challenge you before you go to sleep tonight to ask God, that if He is real, to reveal Himself to you in a very real way! What have you got to lose? Any of those candidates would have been a better vote than Obama or McCain. And a bigger question remains. How in the hell could the GOP nominate McCain over Paul? People can call Paul many things but a socialist he is not like McCain is. Who is one of the few GOP members that voted against the No Child Left Behind act?- Ron Paul, Who voted against taking away your right to privacy(Patriot Act)- Ron Paul, Who wants our brave young men and women home protecting our boarders rather than dying in the desert? Ron Paul. and some how the GOP landed on McCain. Wow. This country has turned into a lesser of 2 evils nation. But you know what? at the end of the day you will still be voting in evil to run you and I's country into the ground. I voted for Paul in the primaries and Chuck Baldwin in the general election and it was the greatest choice I have ever made as a voter. The U.S. Constitution is a secular document. It begins, "We the people," and contains no mention of "God" or "Christianity." Its only references to religion are exclusionary, such as, "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust" (Art. If we are a Christian nation, why doesn't our Constitution say so?<br>

In 1797 America made a treaty with Tripoli, declaring that "the government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion." This reassurance to Islam was written under Washington's presidency, and approved by the Senate under John Adams.<br>

What about the Declaration of Independence? We are not governed by the Declaration. Its purpose was to "dissolve the political bands," not to set up a religious nation. Its authority was based on the idea that "governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed," which is contrary to the biblical concept of rule by divine authority. It deals with laws, taxation, representation, war, immigration, and so on, never discussing religion at all. The references to "Nature's God," "Creator," and "Divine Providence" in the Declaration do not endorse Christianity. Thomas Jefferson, its author, was a Deist, opposed to orthodox Christianity and the supernatural.<br>

Thomas Jefferson, explaining the phrase to the Danbury Baptists, said, "the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions." Personal religious views are just that: personal. Our government has no right to promulgate religion or to interfere with private beliefs.<br>

What about "One nation under God" and "In God We Trust?"<br>

The words, "under God," did not appear in the Pledge of Allegiance until 1954, when Congress, under McCarthyism, inserted them. Likewise, "In God We Trust" was absent from paper currency before 1956. Yes I do. Im not atheist, but I know that your relationship between you and god is a personal one. So making kids who either don't care about religion or don't believe in it partisipate would be unfair. If you or your child wants to say a prayer before class no one should stop them. But this country is too diverse to be placing such a thing in public schools. They have religious schools for people that want religion n schools. I pray to god every day on my own time. The pledge is ok for school simply because everyone is American or atleast trying to be. When I was going to school we had Muslims doing there prayers and no teachers said anything about it. Now kids made fun of them for some dumb childish reason, but they were not stopped from the act itself. So lets keep god out of public schools, if you want your children in a school with god then send them to a religious private school. Don't force other children to be subject to other peoples beliefs. And technically religion cannot be apart of public schools ever since they became part of the government(Dept of Education) its a direct violation of the separation of church and state. If you want your children to have prayers and things like that then they and you can do it on your own time. Please dont take this as being rude, but public school and religion need to be kept apart. ]]></description>
