If McCain won we would see many of the same things happen with exception to the middle east battles. The republicans would support him and the dems would complain. Same stuff just reversal of roles for the goofballs in DC. Just look at Newt supporting the republican candidate for congress when a clearly more conservative candidate is running outside of the party. To them its about party power, not real substance. I thought Newt was a real conservative but now realize he is just another partisan hack.

Whether or not this country was founded on Judeo-Christian values depends on what history books you read. If you use the secular government school handbooks then our founding fathers were all atheist or agnostic or forced to go to church by their mommies. Read the actual documents, letters and discussions written by the hands of our founding fathers and you will find most of them were extremely involved in their christian faith and that faith did impact the writing of the constitution and declaration of independence. The separation of church and state exists to prevent the government from forcing its citizens to follow one faith e.g. the Church of England back in the day. It does not mean a teacher or student is not allowed to say grace before lunch or a prayer before taking a test. To force others to participate with you would be, in my opinion, contray to the spirit of the founding fathers' lesson in freedom of religion. The huge majority of people on this planet are spiritual. From the christians, muslims and jews to the wickins. Spirituality is a big part of their life. Having five minutes set aside during a school day for anyone who wants to participate in a private or group prayer according to their belief is not in violation of any law. One of the previous posters hit the nail on the head when they mentioned the ACLU. The drive to remove all spirituality from society is a communist tactic to herd more and more people into the arms of the government. This is why people of faith were persecuted during the reigns of Stalin, Hitler and Mao. Even today in Russia where communism is trying to make a comeback and in China, christianity and other religions are persecuted and people are imprisoned and sometimes murdered. You have to research all the info available. You have to look at the motives and associations of the publishers and writers. Everything has a spin on it from both sides. I do not attend a church but believe there is a God and we were created not evolved from primates. My belief, right or wrong. Communism is also a belief and has been proven wrong time and time again. It removes individual thought and motivation to create and accomplish. Everything is accomplished through force and deception. This is why the ACLU never comes to the rescue of anyone of faith when they are wrongly persecuted.
