EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires a Master¡¦s Degree in Social Work (or related field) from an accredited college or university and at least two years of child welfare experience, preferably in foster care adoption. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and three years experience in a human services field and adoption experience may be substituted for a Master¡¦s Degree. If a license is required by state law, the agency will furnish evidence of the Recruiter¡¦s license to the Foundation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Using the Wendy¡¦s Wonderful Kids Child Focused Recruitment Strategy, the Recruiter will:
1. Work with FSS staff to identify and select children for the Wendy¡¦s Wonderful Kids Program.
2. Contact each child¡¦s caseworker to establish a working relationship, to gather information about the child, and to make an appointment to meet the child. .
3. Meet with the child in person on a monthly basis in order to get to know the child and to develop trust and openness.
4. Review the child¡¦s case file and document milestones in the child¡¦s life using the Wendy¡¦s Wonderful Kids Case Management Strategies.
5. Develop, write, and maintain an Assessment Plan that includes the child¡¦s desires, willingness to be adopted, strengths, challenges and needs. Focus on the child.
6. Include both child and identified adoptive family throughout the process to ensure readiness for the adoption process.
7. Maintain monthly contact with the child¡¦s caseworker. The Recruiter establishes regular and ongoing contact with other significant persons identified in Item 3.
8. Develop and update regularly the recruitment plan. The plan will be based on information gathered in previous steps. The plan will be customized to meet the needs of the child.
9. Perform a diligent search for an appropriate adoptive family and follow-up on all persons who know the child, have expressed an interest in the child, and/or have had a positive relationship with the child.
10. Continuously identify families who express interest in adoption. Recruit adoptive families through speaking engagements, making and maintaining contacts with the local media, and through other means.
11. Design recruitment materials based on individual children in order to present their information in a respectful and child-focused manner. Materials will include brochures, posters, photographs, and other appropriate materials.
12. Adhere to the Marketing and Promotions Style Guide provided by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption
13. Coordinate with other FSS staff such as adoption caseworkers regarding home studies, court dates, and so on.
14. Complete reports as required by Wendy¡¦s Wonderful Kids Program.
15. Attend the Annual Wendy¡¦s Wonderful Kids Recruiter Summit hosted by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
Educational Requirements:
*High shcool diploma or equivalent or an Associate Degree from an accredited college or university
in an appropriate field. Two years of direct exp. in administrative assistance can substitute for a
bachelor's degree.
Knowledge of word, excel and Homeless Management Information Systems data bases is required. Exp.
working with the homeless is a plus. Independent judgement and confidentiality a must. Valid FL Driver
License.
This is an hourly wage/full time position and is grant based.

Perform psychosocial assessments to clients 10-18 years old who are adjudicated delinquents or those who are at-risk of becoming delinquent and develop goal plans with the client and parent’s involvement. Meet with clients as needed to address concerns pertaining to overcoming peer stressors, adjusting to life, and making positive changes. Provide gender-specific group counseling and vocational skills training. Conduct home and school-visits (when needed) for active case management clients to document progress. Assist clients with the Failure Free Reading Program. Maintain contact with the DJJ and State Attorney’s Office as required/needed. Must be flexible; position requires traveling to multiple sites.
Bachelors degree in Criminology, Social Work, Psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university recognized by Florida Department of Education; one (1) year of related experience. Experience in working with at-risk and delinquent youth preferred. A valid Florida driver’s license and safe driving record is required.
